How to make a T/A scoop functional

If you have an unmolested scoop and want to keep it original you may want to check Ebay for on to cut up.

Search Ebay for Trans Am Hood Scoop.

Cover the soon to be open area with masking tape to protect the hood scoop.

Then drill holes around the "blackout" perimeter.

Next use a jig saw to cut it out.

Finally epoxy a screen in of your choice to keep the leaves out.

Now that you have that done there is one more problem.

The height of the original filter puts the fills the hole with the lid.

Use an air filter that is 13-1/8" X 2-9/16" and it will set lower in the air cleaner to help aid in air flow.

The K&N filter number is K/NE-1590 for Ram Air Pontiacs.

K&N also has an X-treme filter lid that will help air flow.

With these mods the car runs faster and sounds great!!!!
